Preparation of Agroforestry Plan
Client : The Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (RECC)
Donor: Global Environmental Facility (GEF), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Objective: Development of Sustainable grazing related measures under Achieving Land Degradation Neutrality Targets of Georgia through Restoration and Sustainable Management of Degraded Pasturelands.
Location: Gurjaani municipality.
Know-How Group (KHG) prepared detailed Agroforestry Plan within the planned Grant Project “Achieving Land Degradation Neutrality Targets of Georgia through Restoration and Sustainable Management of Degraded Pasturelands” funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and Global Environmental Facility (GEF).
Contract was signed between KHG and The Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus (RECC) for preparation of detailed project design and tender documentation for the arrangement of livestock watering system and agroforestry measures on the selected pilot pastures of Naniani village in Gurjaani Municipality.
The projects envisage the implementation of the following works:
- Studies of pilot areas
- Identification of widespread vegetation
- Selection of the recommended plantings
- Development of maintenance plan-schedule
A tender package was prepared based on the project detailed design documentation.
